“Tamashobana” is a Start Up, offering educational and entertainment games for children and adults. The company’s mission, on one hand, is to teach children those games, which were played by the previous generations in Georgia, while, on the other hand, remind adults their favourite games.
G.Akhvlediani Street is one of the characteristic places in Tbilisi for its architecture, history and the current function. Tamashobana cafe|shop is located in #13, on the ground floor of a beautiful red brick building. The main space consists of a cafe, a shop and a kids’ wooden house. Next to it is a small room, which fully absorbs the function of a playground. Café is separated by a plant “wall” from this space and consists of a scene, coloring wall and tables with a variety of activities for kids. In the café space, a high table is located next to the plant “wall”, which allows adults to look at the kids at the same time. Ceiling of the playground room is lined with green leaves of various shapes and colors. The lights have cloud shape, which brings a fantasy atmosphere in this space.
At the same level, there’s a kitchen for the café. The cafe itself can host 26 people at once. The room is bright due to thecharacteristic high windows of the20th century residential buildings. Ventilation, cooling and heating pipes are painted in green on the ceiling. In the middle of a white tiled bar counter there are plants to separate café counter from the shop counter. Tamashobana products are exhibited on the wooden shelves behind the counter. Next to the the lighting fixtures on the ceiling there are hanging pots for plants. In the middle of a café there’s a large table for workshops and other activities. WCs and storage are located on the basement level.
During the designing of interior for Tamashobana, the main focus was to provide as many plants as possible and create at totally different atmosphere from kindergarten or a children’s entertainment center. The main goal was to create an interior that is creative for both kids and adults. With the combination of textures and colors children can satisfy their interests and widen their fantasy.
