“A lot of wooden logs were laying in front of village house fence in Kakheti. A strong smell of wood was in the air. The house was getting ready for winter and these logs would soon be cut for fire wood. They all had different shapes, sizes and textures. Looking at them made me think they’re too beautiful to end up in the fire. I did quick sketch and using an electric saw and a local guy, we shaped a few logs into different forms, thinking to use them as side tables. Then they were coloured in Tbilisi and named STAIN, as they look like stains spread into interiors.” – Nana Zaalishvili (Founder of Idaaf Architects)
