Project: Nordic Restaurant & Delicatessen ‘Stampesoe‘

First Scandinavian restaurant in Tbilisi was opened Lado Asatiani Street, in Sololaki.
In the beginning, interior design thought were about traditional Nordic design, but with the place came different ideas. When the walls were free from patched layer, authentic bricks of this historic building was found. They were restored and left like that, because setting was so warm and cozy, any idea using any decor or white color on the walls was changed.
Restaurant Stampesoe is located on three different levels. -1 is entirely occupied by kitchen, on the ground level drinks and other products are displayed, which you can enjoy in the restaurant located on third, mezzanine level. Restaurant’s interior is a combination of wood, brick and metal materials. In fact there is no decor, not including plants on window sills and three watercolor painting with leaves on them. Exceptionally noteworthy is the floor on ground and mezzanine level, which is made from hundred years old conifer material. These unique wooden logs were found while deconstructing old factory building, they were part of its construction.
Main idea of the project was, that focus should be on the food and not to the interior, this is why everything is simple and minimalist.
Electrical wiring is made in an old style. Black decorative wires and ceramic isolations are placed above the wall, so all this “map” is visible for the visitors. Railings, which are attached externally on mezzanine floor make the space little bit wider, are black too. It’s notable that there is no decor on mezzanine, only the furniture.
